 Podocarpus macrophyllus
Shrubby Japanese Yew
Description:
Podocarpus macrophyllus 'Maki' is a slow growing evergreen
shrub that can reach 8-10' in height and 3-4' in width with a conical
to dome
shaped
growth habit. Maki is smaller, more shrubby, and has shorter leaves
than the species. The leaves are deep glossy green, nearly linear, and
are
spirally arranged along the stem. Shrubby Japanese Yew resembles a
true Yew (Taxus spp.), hence the common name. This is a great plant to
use
as a screen or a specimen.
